The only reason to visit Madurai is the beutiful temple complex, combined of several towers, all covered with coloured statuses. The statutes are over-decorated and kitschy but still, very impressive. I have visited the temple very early, at around 6 AM and it was already full with pilgrims and lots of atmosphere, groups are chanting and praying, women dressed with their saries, men with their customs. All the scenary is very exciting. I'll let the pictures talk for themselves.
